Welcome to Hidden Cotswold Tours

Hello,  I’m Peter Edwards-Moss of Hidden Cotswold Tours.

Join me for a memorable journey through the stunning Cotswolds. I’ll personally guide you and up to five others from your family or group as we explore the charm, history, and hidden gems of this beautiful region.

Each tour is tailored to you, to enjoy at your own pace. Your itinerary will blend history, gardens, scenic views, and local character.

A full-day tour, in my luxury 7-seater SUV, is typically about 8 hours.

The route follows smaller, quieter roads to ensure a more relaxed day, with ample time to enjoy the countryside and visit some of the lesser-known, picturesque villages.

The Cotswold market towns are perfect spots to discover great food and drink, and shopping.

Take your time exploring cosy cafés, traditional tea rooms, centuries-old pubs, independent boutiques and art galleries.

We just wanted to quickly thank you for the absolutely perfect tour of the Cotswolds that we had with you on May 8th. Words cannot express how grateful we are for everything you did on that day to make our dream of seeing the villages and landscapes of the Cotswolds come true. You were so very professional, knowledgeable and at the same time friendly, patient and kind. Patrick has repeatedly told family and friends that the tour was the highlight of our five weeks in Europe and it was the best birthday he has ever had.

A 10 STAR Tour with an Extraordinary Guide
We were blessed to have booked our 2-day tour of the Cotswolds with Peter Edwards-Moss of Hidden Cotswold Tours! Peter was knowledgeable, engaging, friendly, flexible, intuitive, an amazing driver, and extremely passionate about the area. Our glimpse into the Cotswolds definitely left us wanting more! Peter himself was a hidden treasure and we are and will always be so grateful for the time we had together.

An excellent private tour, and one I would HIGHLY recommend! We requested Peter's help to design an itinerary to include Highclere Castle (given our Downton Abbey interest) - and he delivered an absolutely marvelous day for us. We visited Highclere Castle and several villages including Burford, Bampton, Bourton-on-the-Water, amongst others. Peter was very knowledgeable and provided a highly engaging commentary throughout our tour. We will definitely come back for more tours (of other parts of the beautiful Cotswold) with Peter!

Lovely day out with Peter May 2025 • Family Our family of 5 had a great day out with Peter. The weather was a bit unpredictable that day, so he pivoted to be able to make sure we still had a great day and saw everything we wanted to. It was a great way to start our Cotswolds vacation, and being that we are from Canada, it was a great relief to be driven by a knowledgable expert so that everyone could relax and enjoy themselves. Peter is really lovely & kind. You will enjoy getting to know him.

A perfect day in the Cotswolds May 2025 • Family We opted for a private tour day with Peter because we had a few specific requests. In particular, we wanted to visit Daylesford Farms and have lunch there. It isn't easy to get there by bus or train so organizing our own day tour was essential. Otherwise we were quite flexible and we wanted to enjoy some of the scenery and quintessential highlights of the Cotswolds.

COTSWOLD TOURS

Personal Guided Cotswold Tours

If you’re unsure which Cotswold tour is right for you, consider joining me for one of my “Classic Tours”.
I have specifically created these to cover all the must-visit towns and villages.

I like to take the smaller, quieter, roads where possible passing through some smaller beautiful villages.  This also allows time to stop and enjoy some wonderful views and take some fabulous Cotswold photos.

For simplicity, I have split my classic tours into manageble areas.
Namely, the North Cotswolds and the Central and Southern Cotswolds.
However, it is easy to design a tour which takes in parts of both.

Almost all my tours are bespoke, at no extra cost, as my guests all start and finish at different places.  When you contact me, we will chat about the things and places you want to do and see.  I will then draft an itinerary around what you have told me.  GET IN TOUCH

I can take up to 6 people in my luxury SUV.
If there are 5 or 6 in your party please have a look at my vehicle details page, as the two back seats are for smaller, agile people!

The Historic Cotswolds

Map of the Cotswolds

We are truly fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of the world, rich in history and charm. The area boasts a captivating timeline, from the Romans and the Anglo-Saxons to the Normans and into the Middle Ages. Each era has left its distinctive mark on the churches, historic buildings, and rolling landscapes. As a result, the Cotswolds is a treasure trove of heritage waiting to be discovered.

However, if shopping is what you seek, you’ll find that the market towns are brimming with unique, independent shops, delightful galleries, cozy cafes, and inviting tea rooms. This perfect blend of history and local culture ensures there’s something for everyone.

Every tour I offer is one-of-a-kind. I will personally plan a bespoke journey that incorporates all these wonderful aspects, giving you ample time to experience them at your leisure. Furthermore, some of the most memorable moments often occur during the drives between the towns. I love to pause and point out breathtaking views or simply let you absorb the tranquility of some of my favourite, hidden spots. Typically, a day tour lasts between 6 to 8 hours, providing plenty of time to explore, enjoy, and create lasting memories.
