Today's guests were ready to go when we met outside their hotel in Chipping Campden. Following introductions and a brief chat about the route we set off.The weather forecast today predicted a perfect August day.
One of the must-see towns mentioned on the original email enquiry was Blockley. There were no prizes for guessing that someone was a fan of Father Brown. We went into the church and then wanderied around the town spotting places seen on the television.😊
This was a chance for some peace and quiet before we drove up to the mayhem in Stow-on-the-Wold.. It was lovely to share in a tasting of a bottle of Donnington Gold ale. This is a special place with the peacocks and rainbow trout.
I haven't seen Stow-on-the-Wold quite so busy in a long time. I let them out to walk about the town whilst I found somewhere to park We eventually met up and made a plan for lunch. The Fox at Broadwell. AKA the Pig and Whistle in Father Brown! I am sorry the Ploughman's was not as described by me. But thank you for treating me.
We did not stop in Bourton-on-the-water as it was so crowded. We carried on and drove slowly through Lower Slaughter. We all got out at Upper Slaughter and had a little wander around the Church and village.

There was just time for a visit to Broadway Tower. On the way up it was a chance to play "Spot the odd one out". It was the young eyes of Danny who was the winner!
