This was my first visit to London and the surrounding northern villages, and it was my favorite day of our 7 day vacation. My sister and I took the train 1.5 hours to meet Peter from Hidden Cotswold Tours. He had corresponded with us earlier, to get an idea of what we wanted to do during our 8 hour tour. He made it flexible , so we had time to explore old churches and walk through small untouristy towns and churches, and then stop to have tea and lunch in places that were just like you would envision in this beautiful part of England! We even did a hike near a castle and walked among the sheep! I would definitely recommend Peter, as he was extremely knowledgeable of the history and current happenings, having lived in these parts for many years. And letting you help plan your day tour was great, as many of the other companies have set schedules for every tour. Thank you Peter, for making my birthday unforgettable!

He was most accommodating and was able to fulfill all our desires including finding a pub with no music and a ploughmen’s for my husband’s lunch.
We navigated through some rainy weather but Peter managing to bring out the sun is most places we visited.

I highly recommend Peter at Hidden Cotswold Tours. Our experience with him from our first contact through our time together was superior in every way. His initial response to our request was fast. We booked an 8 hour private, driven tour for 4 adults with pick-up/drop-off at our hotel in Bath. Peter arrived on time and whisked us off in his beautiful, comfortable SUV. We left the itinerary up to him and what wonders we got to visit. Lacock Abbey and the photography museum, picturesque Castle Combe and it’s beautiful church, Malmesbury where we had a lovely lunch with Peter, and visited the church, then off to Coln Valley past beautiful landscapes and then to Bibury to see the ancient cottages. It was an amazing day and Peter is so knowledgeable about the areas as well as a pleasure to spend the day exploring the Cotswolds.

I booked our Cotswolds tour from Australia with Peter and from the beginning knew we had found something special. Nothing was too much trouble and his communication and replies to my emails were excellent. Our tour was for myself and my daughter, her friend and her mum. Peter was knowledgeable, interesting and all day we felt like we were out with a friend. Nothing was too much trouble and the whole experience was something we will talk about for many years to come. We absolutely LOVED our trip around the many beautiful Cotswolds Villages last week.
Peter was such a wonderful guide and we learned so much as we travelled around in his extremely comfortable car.

What a great day out! And a super way to see the quaint backwaters of the Cotswolds as well as some of its more famous towns and villages. Peter was a fabulous host. Very knowledgeable about the area which so obviously close to his heart. A comfortable ride to boot….(pun intended as the new vehicle was a 7 seater so room for 2 small persons in the boot! Wonderful pub grub during our break and it was a pleasure to have Peter join us. Most tour operatives see a break as a break to themselves but he was willing to join us and keep us entertained with numerous stories about the places we have visited thus far. On which note Chipping Camden and its magnificent church was a highlight. The finale Farm Shop at Dalesford was a fitting end to a extremely enjoyable day. Well done Peter….we both hope you get to take many more on your magical mystery tours.

I had never been to the Cotswolds before and so I was delighted when a friend recommended a local guide from Hidden Cotswold Tours. But I didn’t expect the fantastic VIP door to door service that we received, neither the treasure trove of fascinating anecdotes and historical details explained by Peter while he drove us around so many beautiful villages and beauty spots. His charm and humour made the day unforgettable, and by the end I felt he was just like an old friend. Highly recommended .

We recently spent a full day with Peter touring the northern Cotswolds. It was like time spent with an old friend visiting what has to be one of the most beautiful and bucolic areas in the UK. Peter was personable, welcoming, and happy to share his local knowledge about a place that he clearly loves to call home. We had never been to the Cotswolds before so we put our faith in Peter to design our itinerary. We specifically requested a route that was “the road less traveled” because we wanted to avoid the “touristy” spots and crowds, We were hoping to get that authentic feel for life in the Cotswolds then and now , and to learn about the the history of the land and the people. Peter, proving knowledgeable on all counts, did not disappoint. He gave us a great experience, taking us to some of the more popular spots early in the day before the crowds, as well as some out of the way places later on. It was magical–gardens, roses upon roses, stone circles, wool churches, pristine estates, sheep (lots of sheep), thatched roofs, and beautiful countryside –Peter showed it all to us at a comfortable pace. We hope to return some day, and if we do, we’ll be sure to give Peter a call. If your travel includes the Cotswolds, book a driving tour with Peter and be sure to ask him to stop by the chocolate shop and the cheese store for some snacks!

We had Peter as our guide in Cotswolds for three days. Peter is a wonderful guide, is very knowledgeable about the region (especially the northern part of Cotswolds, which has many idyllic villages). He took us to many of the best-known villages (as well as some hidden gems) that Cotswolds has to offer. We thoroughout recommend Peter to anyone considering a guided tour in the area.
