Where Is the Best Place to Start a Cotswolds Tour from London?
If you’re travelling from London for a private Cotswolds tour, I recommend taking the train from London Paddington and starting your tour at Kingham or Moreton-in-Marsh.
Both stations put you directly into the Cotswolds, allowing you to spend more of your day exploring rather than sitting in traffic travelling into and out of London.
Kingham, Moreton-in-Marsh or Kemble?
All three are good places to start a private Cotswolds tour, and the best station depends on which part of the Cotswolds you would like to explore.
Kingham is particularly well placed for the central and northern Cotswolds, including Stow-on-the-Wold, the Slaughters and many of the smaller villages nearby.
Moreton-in-Marsh is further north and can be a good starting point for Chipping Campden, Broadway and the North Cotswolds.
Kemble is the better choice if you want to explore the southern Cotswolds, with places such as Cirencester, Tetbury, Malmesbury and Castle Combe within easier reach.

Why not start the tour in London?
I can collect you from London, but for most guests I don’t think it’s the best use of a Cotswolds touring day.
Travelling by train avoids London traffic and means your private touring time begins when you’re actually in the Cotswolds.

Take the train from Paddington and I can meet you at Kingham, Moreton-in-Marsh or Kemble station.
